A quiet and secluded off grid campsite with tent camping and glamping and welcoming small campervans, conveniently located just off the A5 near Chirk between Oswestry and Wrexham and just 15 minutes drive from Llangollen.
Wild Cherry Camping is a perfect site for families and couples, with a silent-site policy after 10pm,welcoming guests to escape to rural North Wales, enjoy a digital detox and recharge the batteries whilst letting the children embrace the outdoors. The environment is at the heart of the site and recycling, renewable energy and sustainable practices are actively embraced.
There are five pitches to chose from – the Hay Field is home to the three biggest pitches each providing plenty of room for tent camping and the convenience of a private compositing toilet on each pitch. Oak Field hosts the smallest pitch, Acorn, which is ideal for short stop overs and can accommodate three guests.
Finally, the fifth pitch is Coppice, a fully furnished bell tent with kitchen, dining area and compost loo – ideal for back to basic glampers! Coppice also includes a private tent camping pitch that can be hired should friends and family wish to join you.
Full details on all the pitches including facilities and vehicle access can be found on the pitches tab.
All pitches have campfire pits and firewood can be purchased on site. We also offer hire of a campfire cooking kit including tripod, kettle, hanging grill & griddle plate and dutch oven so you are set up to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner over the fire.
We are a dog friendly site and welcome up to two dogs on each of the pitches at no extra charge.
Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and take time to stretch your legs around the smallholding. There is plenty of space to keep the kids occupied – play games on the 2 acre Hay field, traverse the dips and hillocks in Buzzard’s Meadow and see if you can spot Buzzards or the rare Goshawk cutting through the treetops, or whilst exploring Goat’s Wood you can make dens or go on a bear hunt! Say hello to our goats, sheep, pigs, turkeys and chickens who live on the smallholding.
